From Regular Meeting October 5th, 2011
The Clyde City Council met in regular session on October 5th, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall with Mayor Koch presiding and the following Council members present: Brady, Genereux, Sipe and Streit; absent: Rudolph. Also present were City Treasurer Koch, City Clerk Rogers, City Personnel Bergstrom and LeDuc and Tom Hamel
Item B – Rural Broadband and Item C – Executive Session was added to the agenda under New Business. A motion by Genereux to approve the amended agenda was seconded by Brady and carried 4-0
A motion by Brady to approve the consent calendar was seconded by Streit and carried 4-0.
Mr. Hamel updated the Council on work being done under the Energy Management Grant. The availability of funds to update the lighting at city buildings was discussed. A motion by Brady to proceed with lighting updates for City Hall, Fire Station and Water Plant was seconded by Sipe and carried 4-0. Mr. Hamel informed that Council that he would begin work within the week and then left the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
Councilman Streit reported on current CCDRC projects relating to housing and new residents contact. Mayor Koch reported on the Champions future plans and reports to be completed. Mrs. Russell is in the process of compiling data and getting up-to-date with the status of all projects.
The Council discussed the city’s Christmas decorations and the need to repair or replace them. Council members Brady and Genereux agreed to check into available options. A motion by Sipe to approve $2,000 toward the purchase of new decorations was seconded by Genereux and carried 4-0.
Concerns regarding the future of rural broadband in small communities were discussed. Following discussion, a motion by Genereux to send a letter to Senator Moran expressing the city’s concerns for rural broadband was seconded by Brandy and carried 4-0
A motion by Sipe to enter into executive session for 15 minutes to discuss confidential data relating to financial affairs of a second party was seconded by Genereux and carried 4-0. The Council came out of executive session at 8:00 p.m. with no decisions made or action taken during that time.
It was moved by Genereux and seconded by Brady to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried 4-0 and the meeting was adjourned.
*Minutes will become "official" after they are approved by the City Council at the November council meeting.
